Yes, we’re by appointment only. No, we do not accept walk-ins. We operate in a petite atelier, and our designers build their schedules around appointments. This ensures every client receives focused time, high-quality work, and results that meet Velvet Standards.

Life happens. We get it! To reschedule, reach out through our contact form and include a few dates/times that work for you during business hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–7pm.

Bring your garment(s)! You can bring up to 5 items per appointment. If you think you’ll need a hem: Bring the shoes you plan to wear (or something similar) If fit might change with undergarments: Bring the bra/shapewear you plan to wear Not sure yet? Totally fine! We can still use the first appointment to create a game plan.

Once your gown is in hand, we recommend booking as soon as you’re able. Bridal schedules fill quickly. For standard bridal alterations (bodice adjustments, hemming, bustle), we typically need about 8 weeks. Bridal also requires a minimum of 3 fittings, and most brides average 3–6 appointments depending on the gown and goals. If your gown needs major redesign or custom work, contact us to plan further ahead.

If you’re actively trying to lose weight, we recommend starting closer to the 2-month mark so the final fit is as close as possible to how you want it on wedding day. (We can still do early planning and discuss the best strategy. Contact us to go over your timeline and unique project needs.)
